Each player represents one or more families, and certain families need to agree on how to split the money up for grabs in various deals that will be presented during the game. Cashman and Wadsworth might need to sign off on a certain deal, for example, while either Liebgeld or Dougherty can fill in for the third party in the deal.
Once a player tries to attempt to complete a deal, he's the boss and negotiates with everyone who represents those families – but other players can get in on the act, representing uncles and third-cousins in the needed families and offering to do the deal for less money. Different people can become boss to try to swing the deal their way, and family members can be sent on vacation – or outright stolen – in order to put more money in your pocket. Whoever has the most loot when the game ends wins.
