Clear the Decks! - Ship's crew (Players) work together to firstly disarm a target ship, and then sink it. The length of play varies with the type of target ship chosen. Players start with a basic sail ship crew, three cannons and ammunition of differing weights and style. On your turn, by selecting the best combination of attack cards available in your hand, you work together to try and diffuse the potential enemy attacks, sometimes successfully and other times not. Once the ship has been neutralised phase 2 begins and the real work of sinking the vessel takes place. The game is won if you can sink the target ship fully.
Clear the Decks! - works well for both solo gamers and in cooperative play as the target ship formation you choose determines play length and the difficulty level. This very well devised campaign game provides plenty of replayability owing to the numerous set up and in-play card combinations available. We found the game highly enjoyably and challenging, once we quickly had got to grips with, and defeated, the introductory level game.
We recommend the Individual Player Mats for more of a thematic feel and as you move cards a lot they have a very practical use too.
